The state pension amount
The base amount is a flat rate paid regardless of income. The supplement is different: it is tapered by a flat percentage of the whole income basis, and the percentage depends on whether you are single, married, cohabiting — and whether your spouse or partner themselves draws a social pension. This page shows both parts and the four taper rates.
The base amount: flat, regardless of income
The base amount is 75.924 kr. a year (consolidation in force from 30.10.2024 (open — no stated end)). It is paid to everyone who meets the conditions, regardless of income — no provision reduces the base amount by income.
Legal basis: § 49, stk. 1, nr. 1, Pensionsloven (LBK nr. 1123 af 21. oktober 2024)
The supplement: four rates, not two
| Household situation | Full amount (yearly) |
|---|---|
| enlige | 83.076 kr. |
| gifte og samlevende | 41.436 kr. |
| Household situation | Taper on the whole income basis |
|---|---|
| enlige pensionister | 30,9 % |
§ 29, stk. 2 | 32,0 % |
Notice: there are FOUR taper rates against only TWO full amounts. A married claimant whose spouse or partner does NOT themselves draw a social pension is tapered at 32.0%; a married claimant whose spouse or partner DOES draw one is tapered at only 16.0% — off the same full 'married and cohabiting' amount. The rate depends not just on being married, but on the partner's own pension status.

⚠️ The figures in the Act may not be the figures actually paid
The base amount and the supplement are revalued once a year, on 1 January, by a fixed 2.0 percentage points plus a regulation rate computed under a separate Act (satsreguleringsprocenten) this page does not cover. § 49, stk. 1 states no "in force from" year for the base amount and the supplement — unlike the mediecheck figures two lines below in the same provision, which ARE dated. Whether the figures shown here already reflect the latest regulation is therefore not established from this statutory text alone. For the amount actually paid, this page points to Udbetaling Danmark's own published rate guide.

The annual revaluation, 1 January
The figures are revalued once a year, on 1 January, by 2.0 percentage points plus the adjustment rate for the relevant financial year. That adjustment rate is fixed under a different Act (lov om en satsreguleringsprocent) not covered here — this page shows the mechanism, not the precise current rate.
Legal basis: § 49, stk. 3, Pensionsloven (LBK nr. 1123 af 21. oktober 2024)
No further guarantee on top of folkepension
Unlike Sweden or Norway, there is no separate guarantee scheme that raises a low folkepension further. The base amount and the supplement together are the whole amount. There is also no statutory ceiling on the combined folkepension beyond what the income test itself already produces.
